Japanese Head Spa Therapy
combining traditional technique with clean, high-quality products and meticulous hygiene.
What is a head spa?
A head spa is a relaxing, scalp-focused service designed to cleanse, rejuvenate, and nourish your scalp while helping you completely unwind. By combining professional scalp cleansing, exfoliation, hydration, and therapeutic massage, the treatment offers a luxurious approach to scalp- and self-care. A traditional salon appointment may focus primarily on cutting, coloring, or styling, whereas a head spa puts on your head and hair at the center of the experience. The result is an experience that feels indulgent and promotes the care of healthy hair and its foundation. A head spa offers the opportunity to step away from the noise of everyday life and give your scalp the spa day it deserves.
Whether you’re dealing with product build-up, dryness, excessive oil, or simply need time away from the demands of daily life, a head spa can be a beautiful addition to your wellness regimen.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
A head spa is designed to welcome a wide range of hair types, textures, and densities. The focus isn’t on the shape, length, or pattern of your hair. What matters most is having safe, direct access to the scalp so your specialist can provide the full experience.
Unfortunately, due to this, certain styles are not as compatible with the head spa. Guests with dreadlocks or sewn-in/bonded hair extensions cannot receive full treatment because of how the obstruct access to the head.
If you wear a protective hair style, hair system, or extensions and are not sure if your current style is suitable, please reach out before booking. We would rather help you find the right answer ahead of time than have you accidentally decide on the wrong treatment.
If you currently have any open wounds, an active infection, or severe scalp irritation, you may want to wait before booking with us. This includes dandruff and any active flare of a scalp condition such as psoriasis. A head spa is not a substitute for any medical treatment of a diagnosed condition.
-
Yes. Water is a vital aspect of many head spa treatments due to how professional cleansing and rinsing are central to the scalp-care experience.
Your hair may be thoroughly cleansed, conditioned, and dried depending on your chosen treatment. The service differs from traditional salon offerings, with an emphasis on clean, nourished hair rather than a stylized finish.
-
There is no universal schedule.
Some people enjoy a head spa occasionally when they need a reset, while others incorporate one as a regular part of their self-care routine. Your ideal frequency is dependent on your scalp, lifestyle, preferences, and goals. With consistent attention to your scalp and at-home care routine, it can become a meaningful part of your overall wellness ritual.
-
The experience is intentionally slow. You may notice the sensation of warm water flowing over your hair, gentle pressure from a massage, the freshness of a detoxifying cleanse, and the gradual release of tension from your head, neck, and shoulders. As the treatment continues, your breathing may naturally slow and your mind may become quieter.
-
One of the best things about a head spa is that preparation is simple. You do not need to arrive with freshly cleaned hair. Your scalp will be professionally cleaned.
For the most optimal experience, you can wear comfortable clothing that does not restrict your neck and shoulders, arrive a few minutes early to enjoy a complimentary drink, let your specialist know about any sensitivities or concerns, and silence your phone to disconnect.

After your head spa, your scalp should feel refreshed and your hair clean and cared for. You might notice a lighter or softer feel to your hair. The most noticeable change will simply be how relaxed you feel.
If possible, avoid immediately rushing into a busy schedule. Give yourself a moment to enjoy the calm you have created.
